There's patches of grass on my lawn where the blades are an unusually bright shade of green, almost neon green. They weren't there before - the lawn used to be a uniform color. What causes it, and how can I fix it?

  1. well you could have a different patch of grass growing, thats what happend to our backyard.

Our neighbors bermuda grass started growing with our saint augastine and it was a totally different color...

but if the grass looks the same you may just have healthier grass in some areas than others. Try some fertilizer on everything and water your lawn more.

  2. This could be caused from several factors. Without a picture, it's hard to diagnose.

But it could be just simple animal urine from a neighbor hood pet. It also could be a fungal disease, or insect infestation.

It would be good to know where you are located and what type of turf you have.

  3. Hard to answer not knowing where you are and what kind of turf you have.  How big are the patches? How many? Sun or shade? Could be any of several things.  If you fertilized and missed a few spots, the color would be lighter.

An animal may have left a deposit in those places.

    Inconsistent water coverage.

  4. I believe that this may well be a fungal infection which could very well die off given a harsh winter. Equally, it could return at any given time. You could consider taking out these patches and returving if they are small areas. Good luck. h
