Why are there different rules during the NAB Cup?

I'm looking forward to the beginning of the NAB Cup matches, as any footy is better than none, but I just can't get behind 9 point goals, 3 point rushed behinds, etc...

Why does the AFL feel the need to tinker with a fantastic game?

  1. The Nab cup in my opinion,is just another AFL beat up, to simply raise revenue while clubs practice for the real season.    Unfortunately due to the games national popularity now, too many pompous, egotistical half wits, get to air their veiws on whats good for the game and whats not.

  2. It's done for a couple of reasons:

    - To trial possible rule changes without affecting the home and away season

    - To make the pre season cup something different, not just an extention of the main season
