  1. The last I heard, the U.S. has included Alaska for half a century. That accounts for the bears. Or did you mean the "polo" bears that wear Ralph Lauren shirts or knock balls through goalposts with mallets? And whales do come into U.S. waters.

There are several listings of imperilled species. Each state has one and a large precentage of the species on state lists are not on the federal one; they are just locally imperilled. The IUCN has its "Red Book" list and we enforce that as well, just as each state enforces federal laws.

  2. Which says that Americans cannot go out and kill shoot or keep these animals.   Where ever they are found.   How much clearer do you want it to be?  So many trophy hunters want to bypass the law somehow, someway.  Just making sure they understand "they are liable" if they transgress the law....no ifs, buts, or maybe's

  3. There are foreign animals in the American endangered species act because American industry is largely international. As a result, the US government seeks to ensure that American corporations adhere to American law when they develop their industry in foreign countries.

It is similar to the laws that would convict those people travelling to Thailand from the US, Canada, Australia, etc. for s*x with children of s*x offences.

Regardless of the rampant cynicism surrounding this issue, it's an extremely good law which was well developed and laid out intelligently.

  4. does America not have oceans around it ,are there no whales in these waters???????

you are thinking of the USA ,the Americas are all the way from Tierra del Fuego to the North pole

    the last time i looked.

The Kangeroos got me beat i must admit.

  5. because we can donate to the people who save them. every animal has a place on this earth.

  6. In case they find one ever living here in the U. S. they can use it as an excuse to stop a farmer from planting a crop, stop someone from building a home, cause a bunch of lumber workers to lose their jobs and go on welfare.

I can see a lot of reasons to do this.

  7. So environmental liberals can use those animals to halt any oil exploration drilling or refining.
