Why are there loads of UFO sightings in america ?

every time i hear about UFO sightings i always hear that they are in america why ?

UFOs are a cultural phenomenon, not a scientific one.  American culture is apparently more obsessed with little green men (or, I guess they're gray now).  Hence they are more apt to interpret unexplained occurrences as space aliens.  People see strange things all over the world, but don't necessarily report them as UFOs because their cultural background suggests they interpret them differently.

Well for one, America is a pretty big place.  Even if you're only talking about the USA, that's a huge stretch of land.

I suppose the main reason is that the majority of people, in the US at least, are quite open to supernatural or other-worldly explanations of natural phenomenon.  While someone in France might see a meteor shower and think little more of it, someone from the US may be more open to the idea of it being a spaceship or similar.

The US and the UK have dozens reported every year. They tend to cluster around Military bases so the obvious conclusion would be that they are new tech being tested.

Because UFOs are in the popular American culture thanks to '50s movies, whenever Americans see something suspicious in the sky a lot of them automatically think that it is a UFO. Also there are a lot of reported cases of aliens abducting people when they wake up suddenly. This can be explained by sleep paralysis. When you go to sleep you brain stops sending messages to the rest of your body so you don't hurt yourself while dreaming. If you wake up suddenly your brain sometimes doesn't reconnect for a few minutes and you feel all sorts of weird sensations and see hallucinations. When this happens to Americans their brain tricks them into thinking there are aliens in front of them because aliens are popular culture as I said above. The same thing happens in other cultures but with different hallucinations. People in Europe often see witches in their rooms while people in Russia see Baba Yaga (a witch who steal children from their families). I used to get sleep paralysis a lot and I can say you see some pretty frightening stuff.

So to answer your question. There are a lot of UFO sightings in the US because it's popular culture whereas it's not anywhere else.

I'm sure there's a sociological explanation for it, e.g. greater propensity to believe in the paranormal, influence of the media etc. However, I would like to point out that a great deal of very credible UFO sightings have occurred outside the US. Let's not forget that the US is still the world's sole military superpower. It would make sense for a visiting species to pay greater heed to the group of people with the biggest and baddest guns.

Because the United States Air Force tests new top-secret aircraft, which end up being seen.  Not willing to admit a new craft, the Air Force disavows any flights in the area, meaning that the object remains an unidentified flying object (UFO).  It doesn't mean we are seeing more aliens, just that our government lies more.
