why are there lots of chinese and koreans in cebu?

why do they prefer to stay there than any other place in the philipines?

It's not only Cebu that Koreans and Chinese people can be found. There are lots of Koreans too in Manila and Baguio where I lived. The 8-story apartment complex near our residence is occupied by all Koreans and they have Korean grocery stores, internet cafes, bars and other establishments in Session Road. If you're downtown in Baguio, you see Koreans all the time. It's like for every 5-6 Filipino people you see, there's one Korean.

Chinese are in the Philippines for business and Koreans are here for English studies, religious missions, and business too.

I hate to inform you ~ they're all over, like mosquitoes. In our area (south of Manila) we have more Korean restaurants than there's McDonaldses in the whole province. And guess who owns most of the houses in our development? Rich Chinoys from Manila.

Cebuanos are very proficient in English Language, they go there to learn English.
