  1. It is cheaper for them to study English here than in their homeland ... plus they get the opportunity to learn about our culture and experience the sights and sounds of our country. It's a win win situation for them to study here.

  2. Because Philippine Universities costs less than the universities in Korea. And Koreans want to learn English. =)

  3. because teaching in English here in the Philippines is great..

  4. They want to learn English. But we are also attracting South Koreans who come from lower income families in their country. The opportunity to learn English and study in a good school here is cheap compared to studying in a university in Seoul. If they return to their country english proficient, they stand a chance of landing high paying jobs.

There's a sort of Korean invasion going on, Baguio being the capital with the highest Korean presence. Most are eager to start businesses here because the labor is cheap and the cost of living is affordable.

  5. Oh yeah, Koreans are really invading us. In my school, there are at least 10 Koreans in every batch. Ohmy. And there's this one section where half of them are Koreans.

Anyway, it's because the cost of living here is much cheaper than in their country. Also, we use English here all the time so it's easier for them to learn English. Aaand...the academic load/pressure is lighter. MUCH LIGHTER. Suicide in Korea is one of the top reasons for teen death, primarily because of the heavy academic pressure.

When they're in the Philippines, they perform excellently (except of course in English and Filipino subjects) because they've taken up in grade school the lessons for high school.

  6. Because its cheaper to study... English in the Philippines than it is to learn English in the States.

Philippines is also closer to Korea, just a few hours plane ride to Seoul.

  7. yes there are lots of excellent school in other countries but the main object here is MONEY :D

if you can pay for less and get the same amount of education why go to other countries

like the koreans they go to the Philippines

because philippines have a lot of opportunities

    we're multilingual

especially if you study in foreign schools like Brent and Southville

mostly you can learn english, tagalog and chinese all at the same time

so i guess its to save money as well as learn many languages

    my pleasure! :D

  8. Costs are cheap and the curriculum is in English.

  9. they want to learn how corruptions works

  10. The main reason is it's allot cheaper. Especially for the many students here in Iloilo who come to study english.

  11. The short answer is that they have actually been invited by the govt.

  12. the cost of education in the Phils. as compared to their place is far cheaper. and of course,we've got good instructors, the medium of instruction is in English.

and another thing, they could survive without really studying, attending classes without interaction and comprehension is enough for universities to pass them. as long as they pay.
