  1. yeah their are, just as many

  2. i have exp them at all times though dark makes sense cause its when lights put big drain on electrical grid

  3. I am a network admin.  I hate power outages because it screws with the servers.  It happens during the day all the time.  Storms are more common in the evening and that causes it to happen then a little more frequently.  But there are quite a few during the day as well.

  4. There are power outages during the day.  You don't remember them because they don't impact you as much as does losing your lights at night.

  5. I went to a taqueria yesterday for lunch and their power had been out for about a half hour. And a month or so ago, the power went out at home around noon and didn't come back until the middle of the night. Both times it was from equipment problems, which can happen anytime.

Maybe it just has to do with weather patterns in your area. Here in Northern California, the majority of outages are due to hot weather, which is worst in the middle of the day, and storms knocking out power lines, which can again happen anytime. Perhaps your storms are thunderstorms that form in the early evening. Our storms are gigantic and last several days, day and night.

  6. Well,...usually if it were in the daytime, it would be because a

transformer blew from a car hitting a pole.  That happens

sometimes.  But it's usually at nite cause the air gets colder &

thunder and lightening storms become more hazordous.

  7. There are plenty of power outages during the day.

Perhaps you dont notice, or think about it when it happens because it has less affect on you.

That is, if the power went out for 15 minutes at noon, you wouldnt need to search for candles, you wouldnt be late, because you alarm clock reset to a blinking 12:00 while you were sleeping. You wouldnt be settled down relaxing in front of the TV. You might not even notice it.

Here where we are, we get as many power outages in the day as at night. It usually happens during electrical storms, either from a tree branch across the lines, or a transformer being struck.

  8. cuz usually storms come at night and the storms knock out the power lines....thats my theory

  9. There have been.  I've had it happen a few times during work and we had to leave early because the computers and lights wouldn't turn on.  And even when I've been home during the day.  I think it's more obvious at night because you actually need lights, in the daytime you don't really need to turn on lights so it might not affect you as much.

  10. Because during actual working hours all the people at the electric companies are parked on the side of the road under a shade tree, with the air conditioner on full blast & sound asleep. No one wants to start working until just before time to go home...that's when they blow up the line & the power goes off.

  11. Not many people use their lights during these times. So, even if there was a power outage, we might not even know because the lights aren't on.

  12. What the heck are you talking about?  I've had plenty happen around noon, in the morning, in the afternoon, and so forth--in many different locations.

  13. People are probably at work during the day so they dont notice it as much.

If you work in an office building chances are they have backups.

  14. "Murphy's Law"

  15. Because according to my 1st Law of Reality which states that "Murphy's Law will always come into affect when least convenient."

  16. cause we dont put on all the lightbulbs during the day

  17. There are.  Two summers ago much of California suffered power outages during both day and night over several days.

  18. Have you also noticed that if something happens to one of your pets...it happens on the weekend...when the vet's office is closed...and you have to pay triple the cost for an after hours visit???

  19. Just had one this morning around 9:30am.  That good enough for you?
