  2. they aint got enough nerve

  3. They are not good enough i guess..

  4. what kind of answer you looken for or [like wha kind a anser yoa looken 4 ]

  5. cause when or if he wrecks he will get out and run thinking  the pace car is the police

not to sound racist or anything

my Baby momma is black so u know I'm not racist

  6. why do people automatically assume all we can do is play basketball, thats a stereotype even though it may be true, its almost why every hockey player is white...some sports dont interest us...but if you have ever been to a race then you see alot of blacks spread out so we are gaining interest, well some of us but it has nothing to do with it being a redneck sport, most of us doing understand it and so we dont try to, so we stick with what our friend or cousin knows and plays and thats either basketball or football, me, myself i love racing, i put that before any sport on sunday.  until more blacks gain interest and not talking about from the ownership part, i think thats great but i would like to see more blacks as drivers coming in from the developing series...

  7. First off, if I'm not mistaken RANDY MOSS AND BRAD DOUGHERTY (not sure on spelling) are both linked to the race world. Second, Racing isn't about the color. ITS ABOUT HOW GOOD YOU CAN RACE!!!!! If your black and can't race worth a ****, you really think someones going to sponsor you to get racing? NO. Go out one night to a dirt track. There's plenty of black men racing in stock cars.

  8. Sorry not gonna touch that one with a ten foot pole.I know there's a driver in the truck series.

  9. Would love to see Nascar with more diversity!!! Of course "Rowdy's World" has hit this question out of the park with his answer. But there have been very talented African-Amercians in our sport. "Give 'em h**l" Wendell Scott (in which a movie was made about his life), Willy T. Ribbs, and Bill Lester. All great talented drivers in my opinion. I don't if it's from lack of interest of what...I have several African American buddies who do not share my interest or love for this sport. They just aren't interested....most of them like drag racing but just don't want anything to do with NASCAR. I don't know if it's the Southern heritage or what. But again I would love to see a more diverse field in the future.

I think Joe Gibbs has a diversity program in the works so who knows in the near future we just may.

  10. because they would rather play BasketBall and Baseball & Football  They is Ballers

  11. Why does it matter that there are no black drivers in NASCAR!  Why arent there any white people on BET?

Why is this a problem for NASCAR or any other sport.  The truth is black people will participate in sports that interest them.  There is also a big deal being created and focused on that blacks are leaving baseball because there arent any places for them to play in their neighborhoods.

Who do I complain to because there are no opportunities to play polo in my neighborhood?

  12. I haven't seen many Black People in any form of organized motor sports, not just Nascar.   Don't know why really.   It is gaining a bit of popularity among Black fans, and I predict that with Randy Moss now being an owner, the black Nascar fan base will grow drastically.  As far as drivers go, you don't see many black fans or drivers at dirt tracks or smaller paved tracks either, which is where most of nascars talent started out at.

  13. Until recently, NASCAR was mostly an inherited family interest and or considered a "redneck" activity rooted mostly in our Southern states.  However, we old-line multi-generation families have always welcomed new drivers and fans and are attracting them from other countries, races and even laughed at Obama when he tried to identify with us to gain votes as he stumbled to name a driver or declare a favorite.  Lack of exposure to the sport, lack of interest because of this and failure to ask fans to log in to NASCAR.com according to ethnic ID could be giving us misleading current statistics as the interest is building, so expect to see more African-American drivers and fans in the future.  I have seen several people state that Jeff Gordon is Af-Am, but what does the truth or lie to that statement have to do with his skills or supporters?  NASCAR has pretty well kept the racism out of race-ism and because of this the sport and the followers can remain polite even when we get non-relevant questions such as this one.

  14. I would assume for the same reason there's no black Quarter Backs in football and no Black's in NHL Hockey. Why that is I don't know!

There are many blacks in drag racing.

My track has a BDRA(Black Drag Racing Association) race every year. Why no WDRA? Not that such a thing exists.

Why did the "live from New York,...It's Saturday Night Live" episode get cut short in '92 or so to bring me the "Miss Black America Contest"? How insanely racial would a "Miss White only America Contest" be to you?

One black girl...,MO,  became a Nascar official and is suing Nascar now for 1 Jillion dollars which will set the whole deversity program back about 20 year's and put the "I told you so" program back to this very second!

I race better than I do dribbling a ball myself so.....I dont know!

  15. Quite frankly, I think it's because there's lack of interest.  Why are basketball teams mostly black?  It's because they like the sport and they're good at it.  NASCAR is mostly white because they're good at it and they like it.  Certain people and certain groups WILL remain stereotyped, but that isn't a bad thing.  Just because blacks are not PROMINENT in NASCAR does not mean that they do not have the potential or the ability to race.  It may simply be lack of interest in the black community.  Ask a black person who Kyle Busch is.  I bet he has no idea.  That's not a bad thing, just a personal preference.  It's funny to me that so many people put so much pressure on stereotyping NASCAR as a redneck sport with uneducated white guys, but isn't basketball the 'black' equivalent?  Why does it have to mean racism if one race is more prominent than the other?  I think it simply comes down to a matter or preference and talent moreso than it does who has the ability or the opportunity to drive.  NASCAR is one of the leading sports when it comes to diversity effort.  There just hasn't been a lot of interest there necessarily.  Not right or wrong one way or the other.  Just the way it is!

  16. i'll copy my last "best answer" to this question, at least as it pertains to drivers:

yes, there have been black drivers in the past and there are some development drivers in the lower series (nascar camping world east & west - in particular i think of marc davis from jgr, who isn't 18 yet), but i don't think there are any right now in the top three series. there have been a few african-american drivers in the series since 1955 or so, but only one that i know of, wendell scott, is "well-known." there was a movie made about him starring richard pryor ("greased lightning").

"Not only was Wendell Scott the first and most prolific of all African-Americans in the sport but also the most successful. Scott went on to start a total of 495 races in NASCAR's top series from 1961 through 1973. Wendell is also the only African-American to date to score a win."

there are a couple of other articles on the net that discuss two drivers that came before him in the 1950s, but they ran few races and with little success. willy t. ribbs ran three races and finished one in 1986. as for today, bill lester has run in the truck, nationwide, and cup series a few times between 1999 and 2006.

and there are black members of the race teams. just two weeks ago they were showing a piece on how the truck series had invited a bunch of kids from the urban youth racing school in philadelphia to work as "honorary" members of some of the truck crews, both in the garage and at the track. there is a fairly well-funded and well-supported "drive for diversity" there as well, as i believe that one of the kids said that he was excited to be there and had been ever since bobby hamilton (jr. i think) visited his school to tell the kids about opportunities in nascar. and during that piece, they also showed many race team members of color working with the kids.

and then there's the owners like brad daugherty, who has owned portions of teams in the truck and nationwide series, and will be part owner of the JTG/Daugherty cup team next year as well. and randy moss is now half owner of what used to be "morgan dollar motorsports" and is now "randy moss motorsports" in the truck series. he says he eventually would like to move into the other series, but wants to get his feet wet in the truck series first. and he's attracting some big name drivers - jimmie johnson will race for him next wednesday night in bristol at the craftsman truck series race.

  17. Bill Lester raced awhile ago. Not sure what happened to him.

  18. Randy Moss is a truck owner

Brad Dougherty is a car owner

There are a few working for different crews.

There was a driver at one time or another I am pretty sure.

  19. Anybody who wants to bad enough, and works his way up thru the local tracks, etc. to get to the NASCAR level is out there racing, regardless of race.  NASCAR does not discriminate, it just seems that there is a lack of qualified persons seeking to drive or applying for positions in NASCAR.

    Go Jr.>>>>

  20. For some reason, all the black people are on the basketball court.  They just don't like NASCAR.  Just like hockey.  You don't see any white people at all at hockey games.

  21. Dale Earnhardt Sr. Drove a black #3 car.  This forum is not about race, it is about racing.  Do not confuse the two.
