  1. 'Cos they don't happen to live there.  Bears have previously lived in North Africa.  A genus called /Indarctos/ is known from the Miocene fossil record, and /Ursus/, the brown bear, ranged in during the Plestiocene.


  2. actually they did and probably still do.. there's sightings and stories of what is called the Nandi Bear. :) some cryptozoologist think it's the atlas bear which supposedly when extinct long ago.. :) it was a subspecies of the brown bear or distant relative

  3. There are only lions and tigers in Africa!
