Why are there no drug tests in horse racing?

Did you know there is absolutely NO drug testing for steroids in horse racing? I know many trainers and they see the performance enhancing drugs getting way out of hand.

.....And you thought baseball had major drug problems??

i dont know were your from but in australia racing stewards test both horses and jockey..... one of my fave jockeys is out for a month coz he tested positive to ephedrine......

I there is testing going on. Ever heard the term " I gotta pi$$ like a racehorse"? Horses don't hold their fluids, and  will let go where ever they are, even on  the track.

Actually there is drug testing, some trainers are suspended on a semi-regular basis due to positive tests.    They have a "Test barn" where horses go to get tested.

Almost all horses do race on what is called Lasix/Salix in the United States, as it helps a lot of horses who have problems with fluid in there lungs.

I don't know where you got that from but there is testing on all horses that race its called a test barn and the horses go there after they race to be tested. if you read up on this you would find out that thousands get fined for having bad test come back......

I worked on the Race Track for over 5 years in the Stakes Barn doing Security, horses were in fact tested before major races, sometimes some were singled out for a race and sometimes they drew blood on the entire group, it was totally up to the Track vets who they wanted to check but also they do spit test on the winner after the race to see if any substance show up in there urine.  But that is usual only done for the winner/

But the Track that I worked on in Kentucky they can do a test when  ever they desire if they have any doubt about what might be going on.
