  1. Over here, there are.  We get all sorts of authentic Indian dishes as takeaway.  There are quite a few eat in Indian restaurants too!

My fave *has* to be chicken tandoori (with popadums as a side).  It's spicy, and soooooo good!.

  2. I do not know that is a good question , but ask yourself , do you really want you Indian food fast? I mean we got Taco Bell and you see how that is going. There is nothing like authentics ethnic cuisine.

  3. McCurry cannot work in view of the wide variety of dishes, as well as ingredients, spices, etc - Indian food is too spicy to have universal appeal. But i think "Indian fast food" can be feasible if some clever entrepreneur select a limited range of popular dishes, standardize the preparation process and market it a la Panda Express (people power comes first, food secondary) - we might get to see McCurry joints springing up.

  4. There's NO TYPICAL diet of India.

  5. Not enough consumer support? Too much variety?

I think the average american consumer would prefer not be adventurous, and stick to the fattening burgers.

  6. There are in India:  MTR serves up South Indian food and there are lots of street hawkers that serve up kebabs, pakoras, vadas....

In the US, there are plenty of chaat places.

  7. Oh have u ever visited India.

If not how dare u say like that. Anyways I am telling you

in India we eat Pizzas etc also but basically for fast food we go to Indian thelas only.

These thelas are small vehicles moved mechanically, work in the principle of push and pull. There u can find Chaat (fav fast food of almost all Indians), paani puri(spicy water filled on Wheat flour balls)etc
