This is not me digging at Spain or Italy but Im just wondering why there are no Italian or Spanish boxers around at the moment? I can't really think of any renowned boxers from these nations in the past either. Why is this? Is it simply not part of the culture?

Yet many 2nd/3rd/4th generation British and American boxers are from these countries i.e. Calzaghe British born but half Italian. Marciano-Italian ancestory, etc.

  1. You could really say that about alot of countries though. It seems like only recently the Heavyweight division truely became a WORLD Championship. I am sure, in time there will be more from each country. Could you have imagined 10 years ago all 4 champions (until only recently) would be from the former Soviet Union?

Hmm ... I am shocked nobody answered this one, I thought it was a good question.
