  1. Uh.... haven't been terribly exposed to art, I see.

There are PLENTY of images depicting the Abrahamic god.

    Pay attention.

  2. Nobody has seen God, He is a spiritual being. God shows Himself through His creations.. Such as the burning bush on Mt. Sinai.

  3. Simple.  Jesus and Mary had bodies.

God is spirit, no body.  Sometimes artists will portray the Holy Spirit as a dove from some events in the New Testament.

  4. How about the Creation of Man by Michaelangelo?

  5. Ask God......

  6. Because people don't grasp the concept of God. Jesus was God manifest in the flesh. See Isa. 9:6, Isa. 40:9, John 1:1, John 20:28, II Cor. 5:19, Col.2:9-10, I Tim. 3:16, and Titus 2:13.

  7. Try the Sistine Chapel - very famous artwork by Michelangelo.

  8. Have you looked at the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel.  There's a depiction of God up there.

  9. I assume you mean *images* i.e. human depictions of what God might look like.

They do exist but they are rare.

I have seen Renaissance paintings, for instance, showing Jesus and above him God the Father looking down on him.

One thing I noticed about old Medieval / Renaissance religious paintings is that God the Father is almost always the only one depicted with a placid, tranquil expression on his face. All the saints and Jesus are almost always shown with expressions of distress, sadness, sorrow, etc.

  10. because they had no cameras for moses to take pictures

  11. God is spirit.

"God is a word, an unspoken word.

God is the word which pronounces itself.

    God is spoken and unspoken.

God is not being nor yet goodness.

There is no knowing what God is.

Something we do know, namely, what God is not.

In God is no good nor better nor best."

    Meister Eckhart

  12. they had cameras 2000 years ago?!?

  13. Because in christianity, god has no physical form.

Which makes sense in my point of view. 'It' is nothing.

  14. There are - try "The Creation of Adam"

    x

  15. There are many paintings and portraits of Jesus and Mary but aren't really how they would look, they are just predictions. And yes there are paintings and portraits of God.

Though, I don't believe in those characters.

  16. its all just guessing...cuz Jesus was the one who walked down here!
