  1. Originally to protect kids sweatshops.  Now because the state pays the schools on a per head per day basis.  It's an outdated system at the very least....

  3. Everyone is entitled to an education so much so that they'll force you to get one, albeit a basic one. After all, you need to be able to look after yourself and your family once you become an adult.

  5. if you are talking about the united states then it's because they lose about $40 each student, which comes out from our taxes. and that is what they use to pay the teachers.

    it's $40, NOT $20.
