because british food is designed to warm you up, and comfort you. and when your on holiday somewhere hot - you dont want thattype of food. imagine being in the desert 100 degrees of heat sweat dripping down your face and then someone offers you a lancashire hotpot!! it just dosnt work

Not sure why this is in the 'Ireland' section.

There 'are' British-owned restaurants here. Milano's chain in Dublin is part of Pizza Express from the UK.

If you mean British cuisine, I suppose there isn't the demand really.

They have very few things worth eating.

Our food isn't really that good.  When I think British I think of pies, pasties, chips, yorkshire pudding and stodge.

Why don't be a be a little adventurous and try the local food.

Alternatively try Torrevieja or Fuengirola for your cholestorol fix in a morning

If I wanted to go to a British restaurant, say in KL, and see the guys almost drunk at the bar, it would put me off from even thinking twice about entering. And these guy want to 'feel at home' so I would associate paying high prices for my simple and flat-tasting dinner. "How would I ever compete with British pounds", would run thru my mind.

So I would say, 'No thanks" to british food.

Imagine if their foreign wifes did the same thing.

I I'm a brit living in Indonesia you can get loads of traditional 'English' foods here.... Chinese Take Out, Curries, Kebab's, Burgers, Pizzas.... etc ;-) does anyone know what english food is anymore?

Because any idiot can make chips eggs and beans. No point in opening a restaraunt over it ;cos thats al that would be on the menu!
