Why are there so few environmental questions on here?

I noticed that too.  I think it is because the American public is just starting to realize the effect of how we live, consume and dispose of items has such a large impact on the environment.   I also know many people personally who truly believe that the "green and environmental" movement is just another marketing ploy by large corporations.  They aren't aware that what they do in their lives, how they use products and dispose of them or what they purchase and how it is packaged can affect everything from natural resources, to energy consumption to land use.

Because theres so much BS/mystery surrounding the issue nobody really seems to know what to think.

There was a program advertised on TV the other night (UK) titled: 'The Great Global Warming Scam'. Mind you, the Gvmt have done pretty well out of it with all the additioanl taxes though.

If it turns out to all be a load of BS, do we get a rebate?

People don't think it'll really affect them, that's why.

They like to bury their heads....me too.  It's scary stuff.

it is probably because people don't think that they are important or that people thing that other people are sorting them out

It is because of lack of interested. I think everyone should be interested in the environment because it effects everybody.

When we had a hot dry summer the other year there were loads talking about global warming and drought. However, as its been pis.... down ever since people are less interested. There is the odd question about petrol costs and the global stocks - how long will they last etc.and of CO2 levels but not much else.   Interest all appears to be driven by what the media say  which is a shame because the newspapers and TV are generally giving a onesided view and rarely cover the full story. Certainly there is a complete lack of scientific argument.
