Is it fair for me to judge the percentage of intelligent people based on this?

I do respect some of you on here, but that number very small.

(Yes, you are included!)

  1. It's because there are no barriers of entry. LOL!

  2. I think that the percentage of intelligent people on this would be accurate comparing to the whole world.  After all, there are obviously not many people that are intelligent in the world or then we would not have the problems that we do.  The percentage of intelligent people is small, but people are intelligent in different ways and different subjects.  For example, I am not the best in Social Studies, but I ace Science.

  3. I agree with you. It seems like when you ask a legitimate question, you're lucky to get a couple answers. But those who ask things like: "How do I ask her out" or "What color should I wear today?" people get 40-some answers!

  4. Because the majority of people on here are freak'n stupid! Including me, I have my moments as well.

  5. A person of intellect knows that the best answers are in your libraries and text books, not on a communal web page. This site is more particularly geared for the questions that ask the opinion of the target audience...

  6. Questions such as....

  7. It's not about intelligence it's about socialisation. Unfortunately, society is encouraged to think more of appearance and celebrity than about the more serious issues.

Lots of those questions (and answers) out there are posted by intelligent people. It's just that our society has convinced them that intelligence is not desirable, so it's not being shown.

  8. There are few responses to intelligent questions, because responding to an intelligent question requires an intelligent reply,  unless you are answering with "I dunno" or something just for the few extra points (which I think makes you look foolish, but that's another story).

As for judging the percentage of intelligent people on here, I'm not entirely sure of whether or not it is fair. I know I personally judge people, usually by the first couple impressions I get from them, whether I'm reading something they posted, or I talked to them directly. I think my opinion on judging people, as a whole on this site is that it's okay to let yourself get a somewhat firm first opinion, but not let that cloud your second opinion.
