Why are there so little interracial relationships in the USA??????

I am half white, but I am gonna pick on the white people just a bit, and here is why:

In the US we have a one drop rule, and since 70 percent of the population is white, theoretically, 70 percent of those people will mary whites while the other 30 will mary other races. 30 Percent of 70 is 21, So if it was all proportionate, our society would be mixing alot faster. Whats with it? Maybe people live in different places? You tell me.

Here in AZ we have a lot of interracial relagionships, but we're also along the border of Mexico, so there are more Mexicans here. So it stands to reason that in AZ, we have more, and other placer there are less interracial relationships.

People are more attracted to their own race, simple as that.

people are generally attracted to what they are familiar to. also people are attracted to those of higher status.. stereotypically white people are seen as such.

they say men end up marrying women like their mother and men women end up with guys like daddy...

just the way it works out..

think about it this way, if you were in a room with 20 people and only 2 of you were male, you 2 would notice each-other and feel a bond or whatever.  Its not numbers that count.  people of different ethnicities tend to find each-other even if it is like a pin in a haystack.

Because people are racist, even when they don't mean to be, or don't think they are. In all races, by the way. I'm white, and have dated women from quite a few races (yes, including white women), and have gotten just about every comment I could think of. From strangers and, sadly, family and friends.

And there are a whole lot of excuses from people that don't think they are. "Oh, if you had kids, they might be made fun of." Or "oh, it's just that they're from a different place, and I don't know if their family would accept you." Blah, blah.

It's people being clannish and sticking to the racial group they know.

It's partway along the continuum between the groups who are totally xenophobic and tend to marry their cousins (I'm thinking more of the Pakistani tradition than the Cornish/ hillbilly here), and a society without racism; that is colour blind, where people will marry anyone and are more likely to marry anyone because they don't voluntarily pigeon-hole themselves into ghettos.

well im in seattle and thers a lot of interracial relationships here so i guess its just the less racist areas of the US have more interracial relationships ... you know some areas are more racist dont lie.

We go with people in our own econ class not race. That shoul dtell you a lot there. Also some poeple just don't lik eother races. I will only marry certain races- thats just th eway it is.

Im dark skinned im a kiwi (new zealander) to anyone who doesnt know what a kiwi is. My son is half white tho. My nephew is also half white and my grandma whos grandfather was a white american she is also a little white lol.

Where i live in Australia i see alot of mixed relationships. My uncle lives in the states his wife is a white english lovely woman taught me how to make the best trifle ever.I only date white guys and its not because im racist. Dating my own is like dating family. You never know when you could be related to that person lol

i think its because of the concentrations of specific races in specific places, so yeah, people basically not living around a lot of other people of different races

Um depends on were you live/like  in California 20 percent of the population is White and 80 percent is Mexican.And alot of white people dont like mexicans

that 70% you're refferig to also happens to be the most racists of all the races too....Just wait until most of the elderly whites die out..then their kids and grnadkids wont be so scared of of interacially dating, becasue they might get left out of the will....

My parents are interracial and I have friends with interracial parents too. In some places, there are not as many races. Sometimes, the first person a person falls in love with is the same race, but doesn't mean if they hadn't met their true love, they couldn't have fallen in love with someone of another race.
