  1. Vietnam War, many soldiers stayed to raise their families instead of abandoning them.

  2. I don't think so. I havent met  "black people" in HCMC, except some tourists

  3. one possibility - Not all the American soldiers that went to Vietnam were white.  All those lonely single men, in a foreign country miles from home -- They meet a young woman, after a few weeks they get shipped out or shipped home.

The babies grow up.  It has happened when ever soldiers from anywhere, go abroad. for centuries.

Some might be refugees, from other wars in neighbouring countries,  or they went to the city to make money to send home.

They might just like the country.

  4. I didn't see any black person in HCMC. Maybe the time you saw them was a special time. Vietnam is openner for the business recently but I think still not so many foreigners living in our country, I guess because of the language barrier (we are speaking Vietnamese). It's similar to Chinese, Japanese, Korea ... eventhough there are more foreigners living there.

  5. don't lie boy.....there ain't many black people in VN.....those are tourist.....i never saw any black people at all....not ever once when i stay in  HCM city....

  6. I've live in Saigon for 25 years, but I didn't see many black people (except for tourists).
