I saw a national gepgraphic report about india and saw many diffrent children conjoined and with birth defects - the announcer simply said " cases like neelam's are common, and then showed a flash of a girl with 4 arms!

I know that nutrion is poor in some areas of india - is that really why these defects happen?

  1. ignorance, poor hygiene, stubbornness to change. all are factors.

thumbs down mean you agree, but don't like it.

  2. My assumption is that its because there are a lot of births. Even a small percentage in chance is huge if the population is huge. Keep in mind that China has more population but they are allowed only one child.

  3. There are many  ideas?

It would seem India does have a  greater number of these problems....yet! in Africa, which is also poor....it is not a problem.

It has been said, that because of their many many gods, they have laughed in the face of The GOD....that most people follow.

Don't get upset with this idea, for I am just telling what some feel the reason...just may be.

If you look at the vile manner in which Indians also treat one another, and their own ideas, of (family killigs )They also do not always punish for these  crimes.

A lack of conscience, and also thinking gods with 8 hands are a god themselves!! and cows are held as holy.Rats, and

even cockaroaches!!!.....if you follow the word of GOD, in the

Holy Bible...you see, He brings His anger at people who do exactly what  the Indians are doing, and have always done.

  4. just off the top of my head. the only place where anything grows.

i would say there are many reason for the results you question.

    poor nutrition is one,

some level of inbreeding is common (they stay within their caste)

they have a terrible environment especially as to where and how food crops are grown. it in common to use unprocessed animal and human waste directly into the fields along with polluted irrigation waters.

and i think they have a very old gene pool that has very little variety.

all of these contribute to their situation.

any biologist out there with some more ideas?

  5. Not only nutrition, but the fact that drug use is pretty widespread there, as well as in many other countries (including this one).  The first drug that comes to mind in India for abuse would be Opium, but think of how many other drugs that grow there?

Who knows?  There are so many factors that can hinder an embryo and fetus, tobacco smoking is also very widespread there.

  6. it could be for a few reasons.

one of them can be because in India (like some other countries) there is alot of incest between cousins, and other family members, this can lead to birth defects. also, bad nutrition or any chemical in polluted waters can cause other defects. I personally think it has to do with the incest, which is a family pass on tradition that can lead to these problems, not only in India but in other countries as well.
