  1. Competition for your dollar...

Water is in demand and if I sold only one product, most likely I would lose your business to Coke or Pepsi because Dasani, Spring, and Glaceau in several varieties are all sold by Coca Cola. Aquafina, SoBe, Ethos, and Propel also in several varieties are all sold by Pepsi.

What may have appeared to be 17 different water companies was probably a lot fewer in reality. "Dannon" who also makes water by the way, is owned by Coca Cola. Pure Life, Aquarel, and Vera are all sold by Nestle.

Just take a walk down the "chip" isle in the grocery store.  Everything you see is made by Frito Lay.  You the consumer think that you are making a choice, and there is a huge selection to choose from. However no matter what you choose you are still buying a Frito Lay product.

  2. Well, it's comes from alot of place.

  3. There are so many different water choices because people are willing to pay for them.  Bottled water costs as much, or more, per gallon than gas and don't confuse the Spring Waters like Arrowhead, Fuji and Poland with the plain bottled waters like Dasani and Aquafina which are nothing more than filtered municipal tap water.
