  1. We're just returning the favor.   They invaded us back in the 1900s.

  2. There are  about  5.5 Million documented Filipinos  in USA. which means out of the  almost 90 million Filipino  only 6% out of the total population  migrated/work to US.

I don't have the statistical  figures at hand but if you are an intellectual person,  you  would know  that  the Filipinos in the US are a minority group as compared to Latinos, the Chinese , the Indians and Europeans.

  3. Because the United States of America is the greatest and freest country the world has ever known, and they share.

  4. People say that America is filled with opportunities. So I guess there are no opportunities in the Philippines. To answer your question, it's because the Filipinos who have made it to the U.S. don't like the Philippines and no longer want to live there because there are no opportunities in the Philippines.

  5. US has opportunities to offer than the Philippines, thus making most filipinos wanting to leave the country and stay in the US. the number one reason is for work..work.work..and later on, to become residents of US.

not only in US,in many countries, particularly in industrialized countries like US,Canada,Europe and Australia can you see filipinos.

  6. opportunity

  7. Ever been to Manila....?  And that is the Nice part.

Many of the people there are Catholic, they enjoy the large number of like-kind here.

They are kind and very social for the most part; not clannish like some others that come to our country.

Finally, if you have traveled, you'd realize even more what a great country the US is...we truly are a spoiled lot.

We here thank God daily for what we have.

    Mean Mike

  8. Same reason why there are a lot of mexicans in america

  9. they were being persecuted in their own country.

  10. That would be kind of a rhetorical question, right?

  11. Because they want to.  Filipinos live all over the world, just like many foreigners live in the Philippines.  Maybe they have a good job opportunity or own a business.  Whatever.  I think it's great that people can move from one country to another to pursue something they think is worth pursuing.

There are varying reasons, so one can't generalize.  One also shouldn't generalize about foreigners living in the Philippines for the same reason.  There is a difference between a DOM in Angeles city, and employees of international organizations who are working there, etc ....

The reasosns are probably as many as there are emmigrants.

  12. not only in the US..but all over the world. They call it instinct: self preservation..philippines cant offer much opportunities as other countries do

  13. i think its the same reasons with:

why so many chinese in america

why so many indians in america

why so many asians in america

why so many russians in america

why so many africans in america

why so many british in america

why so many pakistans in america

blame it on Hollywood i guess?

but..but..but..things are changing, america is not that so attractive anymore

  14. Because the opportunity is there and accommodations are being given to Filipinos.. This is not only because the Philippines is a former colony of the US therefore having a lot of mixed Filipino Americans, but Filipinos were able to adapt well in speaking the English language and excel in most things that they do in the US...

Also, this is the same reason why a lot of Irish, Italians, Africans, British, Hispanics, and Germans, as well as other with origins from different nationalities are now Americans and either immigrated or were born in the US..

My answer besides the 1st paragraph is because its the land of opportunity and freedom..

  15. Same reason why there are many white people in America.

America was the land of opportunity for white people and is now for others.

The Irish migrated here the 18th and 19th century in mass quantities because of their poverty  and low quality of life, including the Potato Famish.

many other groups of nationalities from around the world have done the same.

There seem to be many Mexicans in the USA, but many people are not Mexican, they are Central or South Americans. The Mexicans outnumber them though, Location, Location, Location.

BESIDES,  Mexico used to extend all over the Southwest, including  NM, AR, NV, CO, CA, parts of oregon, wyoming, Texas, and what Not.

Imagine what the Mexicans though of the "White people"  when they moved to their country.

PS: "white people" is on parenthesis due to the fact that many mexicans happen to be white.

Fact, so there are actually more mexicans in the USA that may not look like the ones you though were from mexico.

  16. Not enough money to be made in the homeland so they gotta go where the cash is to send back to their families. I like it because its gives filipinos an identity in this world.

  17. They think it's where the good opportunity is at (along w/my parent's), the bread & butter of things; hehehe not for long coz thingsa changing my fellow Kababayans...Need to get prepared for what's coming up especially w/the 2008 elections and the economy going up in prices & the dollar going down in value
