I went to the beach today, and i gotta say i was disappointed. Too many jellyfish. So we got to talking and a question came up: what causes jellyfish to come to the shore one day, and not come on another. Now this is the peach that has big waves all the time, so it must be something else then just that. Any help? =)

  1. I think the jellyfish are part of a bigger picture involving the 6th major mass extinction event, they are found to be the only animal living in the oceans dead zones. I believe the sponges are at the heart of this but the Cnidarians, bryozoans, fungi, and bacteria are also involved

  2. Jellyfish can not swim. They are carried by ocean current, and so they often end up in one place. They can kill fishes, and so most fishes do not want to mess with them. Their natural enemies are Chinese and the sea turtles. That is why they are so abundant.

  3. that happend to me once wen i went   to spain its only because (i think)they are carried by the currents and and strong wind made the waves which carried he jelly fish

  4. Maybe some days they find an abundance of their prey near the beach which draws them closer to the shore.

  5. The fish are the main predators of the jellyfish.  It's the over fishing of the oceans that has upset the balance allowing the jellyfish to grow and multiply.  Basic ecology; take away the predators and the prey will multiply and grow uninhibited.
