  1. because they are haters, and just want our attention and make us feel bad but we dont give a f·$%/(.  right? so just ignore their answers.

  2. Some may be here because someone in their family is vegetarian/vegan - they may be looking for recipes that are vegetarian/vegan to fix for someone coming over that is - a host of reasons.

There are also the childish that like to disrupt - but your going to find that sort of stuff on any message area.  At least that is what I have found in the 15+ years that I have been doing this sort of thing.

  3. because we're an easy target, just like anyone else who is different from the norm.  check out the GLBT section, Gender & Women's Studies, or Religion & Spirituality....their trolls can be far worse than ours.

but to avoid generalizing, also consider that there are some meat-eaters who contribute to the v & v board and give very helpful information and support.

  4. When you ask a question in the Veggie section it also shows up in the general Food and Drink section.

We just have to get used to their BS answers.

  5. Well, here is my observation:

Some meat-eaters believe that vegetarians are attacking their own belief system. Just by being a vegetarian makes many veggies center of target for their stance on vegetarianism, because meat-eaters don't like to be seen as the "bad person". I am not saying that they're bad people, but many meat-eaters assume that vegetarians accuse of meat-eating as "bad", although there are no such accusations. That is also why some meat-eaters seem to hate vegetarians. Some of them tend to become very defensive, and even try to attack vegetarians.

I think that we're seeing those types of meat-eaters on the vegan answer board, because they speak out of their defense. It also helps that they are on the Internet, because in real life, many of their arguments don't make sense. It's like they're in deep denial of the truth behind the meat industry.

Most meat-eaters that I know are not like that in real life, so I try to ignore these hateful messages. Hopefully one day they will be enlightened and become veggies themselves, for their own health, environment, and animals.
