Why are there so many stabbings in the UK?

There seems to be a stabbing in the UK every 2 seconds. Ok American bashers---this is NOT about America today, it's about the UK! Let's bash the UK today and ask why they have so many knife-weilding maniacs!

because knives are cheaper than guns...therefore there are less shootings and more knife crime. as to why? i guess kids on the streets feel they need to defend themselves against the possibilty of attack, some people resort to knife crime if they have a serious grudge against someone or a group of people...some just do it for the sake of it. knifes are way too accessible but it will take serious measures to reduce knife crime in the UK and it wont happen anytime soon

Why are there so many shootings in America, school or general?

I'm not bashing America, just stating a fact.

Unlike America, we've actually done something about gun crime- after Dunblane we had enough sense to say enough is enough and not have a mass hysteria about the loss of some anachronous 'right' (psshh) that results in the deaths of those from all walks of life, including so many children and young people. And, of course, then look for pathetic psychological excuses when, crazy or not, if guns were not legal then they would not be capable of mass murder so easily. But admittedly it doesn't stop everyone, I don't think anything ever will, as the recent stabbing epidemic shows, and they've resorted to cruder methods such as blades and knives.

I hardly find the fact that we have a lot of knife crime as a personal insult to me as a British person- just because I live in the same country does not mean that I condone knife crime, nor that I choose to associate with 'knife-weilding maniacs'. Plus it's hardly a 'British' thing to do, is it?
