  1. Because, old man, the internet apparently counts as research these days.

Beats the h**l out of me, too. I note 'get with the times' seems to be the height of insult these days too.

    No imagination, these kids.

If I see anything that looks like a student looking for homework help, I answer with something that looks like it came out of a textbook....  but if it does it's only because I know how to write very convincing rubbish.

Do your own studying, you lazy little amoebas.

  2. wonderful, why dont u go to the sites now and study better.

  3. If you were a cultural anthropologist you could write your own thesis on the why of question asking. But really isn't asking for knowledge a more personable way of gaining it? Today, educational books are outdated before the release date, lol. Also, look at the revisionist c**p being printed in the U.S.

  4. When you were a student, you have learned from books.

But now there is a revolution of electronic devices, communication skills and speed age, called Aquarian Age. This is due to the Planet URANUS the Lord of the Sunsign Aquarius.

The students are the best group in direct access to the Information Technology, learn all developed aspects and hence seek all help through the Internet and also through the Search and Answer facilities, where Yahoo Answers is also one of the outlet.

There is no need of keeping big volumes and number of books also. We get everything from Internet.

  5. It's faster and easier. There is so much else to do with all the great shows on TV and Myspace. Who has times to look things up in the dictionary anymore?

  6. Because they know very well if we question so we got a very handy answer now why because so many intelligent people are registerd with this site i think you got it very clear

  7. why not

  8. Knowledge and wisdom is earned and never bought or given

They will curse their laziness when sitting behind the Burger World counter at the age of 36

  9. it's more efficient.  saves time for other things.

  10. Yahoo Answers gives a broader answer, from multiple sources. I find it easier to get info. from different minds, and it's just convinient.

  11. Whats wrong with asking questions,,,,,Its conveniant and a whole lot easier because you know the answer your getting is coming from another human who has a different opinion/perspective.

I find yahoo answers very helpful and sometimes i find it more usefull than Wikipedia or ASK.com because its more direct and precise.

Besides times have changed. In your days there were fields to run to and do research. TOday that has been replaced by malls,Condos offices.

Its a bit ironic that you criticise students for seeking answers in here yet you ask a question in here too because by asking that question you are already seeking an answer hehehe.

  12. because 2 improve our gk......more over some people dont hav proper suggesions or guidelines.................to guide them

  13. I'm 38, and we never had computers at home , just books , that's if you were lucky, students get it really easy these days , they can even take calculators in exams these days...

  14. you'll see..

btw., why did you bother asking right nw?

  15. Get with the times grandpa ;)

  16. It seems they can't even use a search engine.

  17. Because

    1) they don't realize that Professors don't take Yahoo answers or wikopedia as legitimate resources

    2) they are too lazy to Google search for things

  18. I always give them the wrong answer

  19. because its a question and answer site! lol its not like they can quote or anything. sometimes its to just put another spin on the subject. some essay titles are horrendous!

  20. Oh, silly, silly Jingles.

  21. technology also evolves

  22. Internet is available. I know many students that uses Wikipedia for sources although it's prohibited at the Universities in Norway.

Personally, I use mainly books. Or I use Google Scholar sometimes which gives a lot of good information if you have the time to search. The thing with asking questions here, I think, is that instead of having to spend much time to find out answers by  yourself, asking some here will take less time... However, if that really helps you later, is another thing.

  23. Unlike u students have an agenda.

  24. students generally have natural curiosity that hasn't been jaded by having to mess with the mercantile to  support their lifestyle so they ask questions so they can find out the answers/ just because they ask questions here/it's hardly fair to assume that they aren't looking for answers in books as well/ have you rode a city bus lately and seen how many students are reading a book instead of chilling out with thier friends?  Obviously it takes one to know one, and the mere fact that you're asking questions/ you're still a student too ... a student of life with a little more going on than jaded curiousity I;ll wager ...and who says someone is more of an expert because he wrote his stuff down than someone who put his up on the net?

  25. well apart from the fact that its the point of this site........................... =@

  26. Because they are lazy. And they know that people who know love to show off their knowledge. What they don't realise is that that knowledge might not be accurate.
