  1. because it p2p sharing software... if the user shares the file that has virus on his/her pc then expect the file has viruses.. etc..

  2. They are well distributed and it is simply malicious disgruntled people trying to show how cute they are.  Hope everyone of them get a bug that will wipe their system.

  3. Because the bad people know where to put it where you will download it.

  4. They are Peer-to-Peer programs. So the file you can be searching for may not even be the right file, just something named to appear like your song or video. Its all about being able to log what your doing for critical information. I suggest not using Limewire.

  5. You should stop using Limewire. If you must use it,before you open ANY file, scan it with your anti-virus first.

  6. idk, go to circuit city and ask for help from someone who does that sort of stuff for a living!!!

  7. It is an easy way to spread them. It is a HUGE sharing program

A lot of inexperienced users will go downloading things all willy-nilly, without first checking to make sure it looks legit, and without doing any virus scans after the download. If they even have anti-virus to begin with.

  8. In case you didn't know it,  99% of the files on Limewire are  illegal, stolen copys of copyrighted material.

There is just no honor amongst theives these days.

  9. i dont know, norton is cr*p in my opinion, i have it and my computer has so many viruses its mucked up my brand new £1000 computer =[

and about limewire.....apperently it will be illegal soon because of the porno and viruses on it

  10. Because there is allot of looses out there. Plus lime wire is a illegal program to use so it doesn't come with protection like the programs you have to pay to get the music &trade

  11. people are jerks...

and only zipped files contain viruses and spyware (meaning that you would have to unzip them)

  12. so they could get your credit card info if you've paid for limewire pro or other paid programs on the computer

  13. because it is "openware"...it has major liabilities but as long as you use the norton(in conjunction with ad-aware)you should have no problems.  you can try a different downloader, but i think you should try to delete the lime-wire you have first then re-install from a different source.  see if that doesn't solve most of your issues...

  14. this is because so many people use it. it wouldn't make sense to target these things to only a few people. but with thousands, some will always get through . BTW Norton misses half as much as it finds, get another program too as a backup to find the rest.

  15. Well someone with thr programing know how wants to be a d**k pretty much ... so the make up ( in most cases )  just some cmd command to download more viruses off the internet witch if you have one and your on the internet your gonna get more .. unless your anti-viruse blocked it ... i was reading about how to make them .. not because i want to but to get rid of them  know how they tick etc ... most are very basic and easy to make and delete .. others can me very complicated.. i have read that really bad ones can overclock your cpu and slow down your fan to cause bsod ( Blue Screen Of Dead ) or even  melt the cpu altogether ..  anyway most people just think there cool and want to be ***** so they upload viruses .

  16. cuz of sick people!

  17. Because the creators of this malware want to spread it to whoever they can. What better way than to make it look like a popular movie, song, or program that people will download onto their computers and run without thinking.

  18. cause, its easy for hackers to put it on there for people to download. then hackers can get all your information.

bottomline : it's painless, and simple. they don't have to do any work.

  19. urngh cause people are absolute toolboxes and make them in the first place.. even mp3s are disguised as viruses now, its quite hard to know if your getting the real deal or not these days!

i would like to line up anyone whos created spyware or viruses and shoot them in the belly :)
