Why are there so many white people in America?

Not sure what you mean by more representative.  Europeans settled in New England.  That's why there's alot of white people.

there are so many white people because the european influence when America was first coming as well as the fact that so many native americans intermarried with the white people, thus sort of tainting their bloodlines and making their whole nationality lighter and lighter skinned. the second part of the question i dont really understand. the white are representative of the population, as are the blacks, the native americans and the asians. all the european countries as well as some others are all classed together as white.

Mostly because they killed off the early inhabitants of the land; and did their best to keep the black people from procreating too often to make sure they didn't have enough numbers to rise up on the white people later.

That handles your first question.  What do you mean by the second one?

That white people should represent issues important to other races more often?

That white people should be the most represented in government and in media because they are the majority?

Or that white people should find a way to change their color so that the population is more even between all races?
