The answers to the question on this page where did the name sirloin come from are all identical letter by letter and even bracket by bracket. Why is that? Am I missing some thing?

  1. This question has gotten be befuddled.

  2. They prob'ly copied and pasted from the same source, like Wikipedia...and pressed 'Submit' at almost the same time.

  3. Because so many people believe that Y!A is meant to be a clone site for Wikipedia.

Y!A will be the death of the world-wide web.  The concept of the WWW was that you didn't need to store all information on every computer as long as you could find it from its source.  Soon, it will be impossible to find anything on the internet, because people will have copied every article in Wikipedia to Y!A hundreds of times.  The unfortunate side effect is that while Wikipedia is updated periodically, the Y!A copies are not.

The second reason why Y!A will be the death of the WWW is that people use Y!A as a primary source of research.  Instead of a simple Google search or *gasp* a simple Wiki search, they type their questions into Y!A, and wait much longer for answers of questionable value.

I got a kick out of the guy who asked for information here, and when I gave a link to a Wiki article, he said that "Wiki is not an academically acceptable source."  I am baffled that he believes that Y!A is better source than Wiki.
