Why are there two ways to write ki and sa in hiragana?

for ki theres two ways to write it and for sa theres also two ways.

  1. we learned to write like

    ki -> 4 strokes

    sa -> 3 strokes

    not connected writing at school.

    connected one are just different font i guess.

    im not sure but there're tons of different different font in japanese as well. english "a" is different from hand writing right? same as 'sa' and 'ki'.

    i was dtp designer. saw lots of font to design. so this is just a my opinion :)


  2. There isn't. Do you mean hiragana and katakana? In hiragana, there is definitely only one way to write ki and sa.
