Why are there weeds growing out of my bathroom sink?

I live in a apartment, and the sink stinks when I turn the water on. But why would weeds be growing up, its not in the hole where the water drains its soming up through the hole straight across from the water spout thing.

Chances are you got some seeds on yourself or clothing and when you were using the sink some seeds fell in the over flow. This is a dark damp place where the environment is what the seeds need to sprout.

  Now to get rid of them, try to put the plants out with long nose pliers or a thin wire shaped to form a hook. Then  you can try some very hot water into the overflow to flush out any remaining debris. Then put in some baking soda to make it smell fresh.
