In my town we had two 10 year olds decide to break into a school and steal quite a few things. They were caught and only got a slap on the hand (the parents had to pay back what they destroyed). Just tonight a few 10 and 11 year olds decided to break into a house and steal things. They were caught but more than likely they will also only get a slap on the hand.

What is going on? Why are these kids able to get away with these things and why aren't their parents trying to stop them? Come on these are 10 year olds doing this, what does this have to say about are near future?

  1. the kids are acting like this because one: they know their going to get away with it and two because of what they see and hear older people or kids talking about so because they know that their going to get away with it their going to continue doing it and their going to do it for other people as well because their to young for serious punshinment.

  2. What their parents should do is paddle their butt good.

They aren't too old for a good old-fashioned spanking.

    Thats what todays kids need.

  3. were do u live? harlim? LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!

serieusly, it just gos too show taht society is acsepting satan moer and more.

  4. Because the parents don't care.  My kids are 9 and 10 they have friends that play outside till 11 at night at that time my kids are in the house in a deep sleep.  The parents don't know what the kids are doing and they don't care as long as the kids are not under them.

  5. What on earth on 10 year olds doing out and about able to break in and rob people??  Where are their parents?  My daughter is 14 and I know where she is every single hour of the day.   No 10 year old should have so much time on their hands they can get into that much trouble.

  6. For the parents as long as they are keeping their kids alive and sending them to school they don't mind anything else the kids do. But these are the irresponsible parents, the ones that think that it's a "phase" or the children just don't know what they are  doing. That's bu****** right there, at ten they know enough to break into a store and TRY not to get got and why? Because they know they shouldn't do it! These parents just don't want to deal with it, which is going to be our trouble in the future. ;p

  7. Truthfully, their parents probably do not honestly know how to handle a situation like this at such a young age, sure, you could lecture them and ground them, but if their doing this then they could end up rebelling and doing worse. The reason they may be doing this is simply peer pressure, and or had a family member who partook in this unexceptible form of behavior,  and they think it's "funny".

Have you considered that there may be something going on at home, and they think if they steal something it will help out the situation at home?

If this behavior continues, I would say something to the parents, and make sure everything is okay and simply suggest how they could punish their children. Do not tell them what to do, if this behavior runs in their family, you do not know what they are cappable of.

    Best wishes :]

  8. Kids get away with everything,I mean I can't even count how many girls 14 and UNDER who thought they were pregnant and/or were on here. This whole world is getting ridiculous it's just insane how kids my age are acting...at least my parents taught me better than that, they instilled morals in me,but apparently these kids' parents could give a c**p less.

  9. This is a direct reflection of the state of our country and culture at the moment.  We take parents out of the home in order to be able to provide monetarily for the family, but don't realize the impact of not having them present for the moral education of their children.  Then we expect teachers, the next most influential adults in their lives to not only teach, but discipline and guide morally as usually as the first priority without valuing them in pay or merit.  We limit how much involvement good meaning adults such as coaches and scout leaders have in their lives because we are so morbidly afraid that something might happen to them.  Then we they are morally decrepit, academically failing, and societal outcasts, we sit back and wonder what the heck happened.  We stopped valuing family and what that means to us, when we do that its the children that suffer and then society as a whole as those children's choices begin to effect us.  But it won't be until we fight to get parents back in the homes, teachers appropriately valued and a moral structure back in place before we will ever see an improvement.  As dismal as that sounds, America chose to sit back and let it happen.  There are always choices.  Unfortunately, we are now beginning to experience the consequences of those choices.  People don't realize that there are consequences for all of our actions, because there are some things that are true whether we believe them or not and there are some things that are not true whether we believe them or not.  Value the family, and we value the child.  Our future is grim, unless we all as individuals begin to do something about it.

  11. Because they are minors. They could go blow up a car and not get a harsh punishment.
