  1. You should only allow them to run free when you are expressly watching them. At that age they could get into trouble if left alone. Placing them in a bathroom with their commode and shutting the door when you are gone (with the toilet lid DOWN) Should help reinforce them using the box. Just be sure to keep it very clean and if there are many kittens, you might provide 2 boxes.

  2. You have to move the litterbox from its old position slowly, a little bit each day.  Kittens (and even adult cats sometimes) are just not very good at adjusting when you change the position of the litterbox.  Also if you're really having problems, when you move it each day make sure they see you doing it.  Picking them up and plopping them in it right after you move it can't hurt either.

  3. When you trained the cats you trained them to pee outside the litter box so they weren't used to having in the closet that's why they were doin their business other places. And they might be upset with you for the change and that may be why the went all over the place. They're still very Little so its hard to tell! I love kittens and have had many litters in my house and have found it takes around  10 weeks to get em all ready set and potty trained! Patience will be worth it! Good luck With the Kitties!!
