  1. Because IOC decides where the Olympics are to be held and they felt London was the best choice of those cities who bid for the hosting.  Many things besides whether a city has hosted before goes into this non-political decision.

That said, I would like to see new cities host also.

  2. London is a great city and for all that you whine is already been decided. In 2012, Summer Olympic Games will be held in London, England.

  3. Because the London bid was judged to be the best.

The last time the Olympics were in London was 1948 - did you see them?

  4. You want to see them some where new?! So you're old enough to have seen them in 1948 and 1908, the last two times they were held?!

Well done on living to such a grand-old age.

The 1908 Olympic Games were scheduled to take place in Rome, but the eruption of Mount Vesuvius on 7 April 1906 required the Italian Government to redirect funds away from the Olympics.

The 1948 Olympics were nearly canceled due to the war.

    Know your facts maybe??

Your whining will not change a thing.

  5. I was hoping to go to the 2012 Olympics, and it would've been awesome if it was in some exotic locale like Rio or Cairo or something like that, as I've been to London twice already. But London is a wonderful city, there's always something to do there, and it's the Olympics, so it doesn't matter where it's held.

Here's to hoping 2016 is in Tokyo or Rio!
