Why has the Crows got the most members out of all the other teams? Why are the Crows so popular?

Yea, Yea im a crows fan but im not a member coz there is almost a 3 year wait on gettin em, i only support them coz they are from adelaide and i have supported them my whole life (Crows started 1991 and i waz born in 1991)

I think that one of the main reasons for so many members is because of the state of origin rivalry between the Croweaters and the Vics. SA is a very prominent AFL state along with Victoria and Tassie yet they are only represented by two teams and poor old Tassie none, yet Victoria have got something like 10! With the Crows being SA's first AFL team, they have had more time to build up a supporter base than Port Adelaide, and their two grand final wins would definatly have helped them to recruit members. The only reason the crows have most of the support in SA is because 3/4's of the state hate Pt Adelaide Magpies when they were in the SANFL, yes I know they are still there but check the facts, Power was born from the Magpies, there wasn't going to be a continuation of Pt Adelaide in the SANFL until the hierarchy of the SANFL realised what a mistake it would be not to have the Magpies and therefore readmitted the team but with no connection with the Power.

AAMI is a small ground 50000 seats

build 100000 seat stadium put 10 more teams in adelaide

you would only fill it up when collingwood was playin there

Plus 65% of your members are on some type of concesion

They have a lot of members because they are a two team town footy club, simple as that really.

You got me thinking so I googled it and you're right you do have the most - puts Sydney and Brissie to shame with only one team. I guess the answer is that SA is as passionate as VIC about AFL but only have two teams, you'll notice that WC and Freo are very high up as well.

I was surprised at Collingwood and Carlton, i thought they would be 1 and 2

adelaide is only high cause all the peopel who didnt like port magpies signed up and then when they had kids they were brought up to support them. and memebership doesnt really mean much to me, cause at the end of the day what happens on the scoreboard really matters

Ok, first if all Adelaide don't have the most members, Geelong and Sydney do, second of all, they do have alot of members, you ask why they are so popular, because they are a very good team, theyre never the worst, and never the best, unless youre talking about 2006.
