Question:

Why are they so unfair with you if you're smart?

I tried to apply for extended time national testing for ACT and was denied because I didn't have enough documentation. I've had a 504 plan for 1 year now and it really helps me with my classes. I was diagnosed with ADD when I was six and currently take Adderal XR. Another fact is I exeeded on all three parts of AIMS, it took me seven hours each for both the Writing and the Reading, most people finished within 2.5 hours, but that doesn't show up, all they see is the score. Math I finished within the time limit. I'm usually the last one to finish during a test but I do well. It's unfair, I have testing anxiety but I don't have any documentation just a 504 plan. If I wasn't so smart I would probably get extended time. It's not fair.

  1. legally if you are on a 504 and the accommodations state that you need extra time they have to give it to you- if they dont you could prosecute.- whatever your level of smartness.- i would talk to the special needs person at the school and try and get them to get that included.

i havent heard of  you situation- we call you a twice exceptional kid_  gettign timeon the ACT though if it wasnt  documented before.  - worth a shot though
