  1. too many ignorant people about, namely some who answered this question.

  2. KYCodner is a perfect example. Ignorance and intolerant of something they do not understand so it is easier to pass judgment then to learn.. The lie I was living was attempting to live as a guy.

  3. Because many people are judgmental pigs. I don't think it is most peoples fault though. Many were raised to hate certain groups of people.

  4. It's because a lot of people don't agree with what they are doing.

I personally don't agree with what they do but unlike others I won't discriminate against them. It's their body they can do what they want with it.

  5. ya actually it does, becasue at heart ur still a man, ur only fooling urself if u get a s*x change, it means u couldnt handle sumthing in ur life so u take the easy way, its like ur living a lie, u can change the outside all u want but taking tht route isnt the right way, ull always be who u are, now tht doesnt mean u go hating on transexual ppl, but to me its not right.

  6. Because people don't understand. They believe all the myths and aren't always open to the truth.

  7. It's all about our society being a patriarchy and misogyny.  Julia Serano explains it all in her book which I believe is a classic:

Basically society lionizes masculinity and dismisses femininity.  So it should come as no shock that society reacts violently when any "man" wants to "become" a woman.  Why would any "man" give up his privilege?  The answer of course is that the trans woman was never a man, but society just doesn't get that.  We need to continue to educate people about the nature of transsexualism if we are to improve things.

Need more proof?  Okay.  How often do you hear about trans men in the media?  Other than the "pregnant man" possibly never.  Why?  Because it is accepted and even expected that any "woman" would want to be a man.  As much progress as we've made against sexism in the US in the last 40 years it's still present.  The struggle won't be over until everyone learns that neither s*x is better, they are just different and that we are all EQUAL.
