I getting conserned about the environment alot these days and when I read this in my text book I was shocked.

  1. Yup exactly its this idiots i am living with in Africa and south america that needs firewood....

    We are concerned about global warming and our ``carbon footprint`` but it wont change a thing if the people dont stop chopping down forests and then actually burning them!

    (look at it destroy the earths way of dealing with CO2 then burning it creating more of it) This is one of the many feedback loops that will cause global warming to hit uss al before we are ready. (for example they are realising the polar cap is not only melting but actually gliding off the earth on wich it rests into the sea, that will instintly rise the temperatures and the sea level)


  2. Mostly to grow crops like soya beans, or graze cattle. To feed our overpopulated planet and generate wealth for the producers.
