Why are truckloads of "stuff" plus bottled water going to New Orleans?

Fox and CNN are now showing the little breakers slapping against the seawall in the New Orleans area. Wow! Anything could happen now as the storm moves on toward Texas. Wow, huh?

Are you a ******* clairvoyant?  Is anyone in New Orleans?  Or the white house?  Or the national hurricane center?  Have you even looked at the track of the storm over the past few days and the data about it's intensity?  This was a major storm heading STRAIGHT for New Orleans.  It's not as intense as people thought it would be but it still has the potential to do a lot of damage.  The storm came ashore just west of New Orleans which meant that the city was in the worst part of the storm, the north east quadrant.

All I can say when I see a question like yours is, Wow!

They are giving free stuff to them so they wont be looting again..

The levees didn't break until after the Katrina hit Biloxi.  The aftermath is what will tell the story.
