Why are u not supposed to use bleach w/ a septic system?

  1. A sceptic system needs certain bacterium to break down whatever you flush into it.   Chlorine (Bleach)  kills bacterium.


  2. Bleach kills the useful bacteria in the septic that breaks down the solid material.

    You can use a bleach alternative. Anything with peroxide in it.

  3. never use bleach, pour down white vinegar in small quantities, say 200 mls a day for a week, it will rejuvenate the bacteria

  4. because it kill bacteria and a septic system needs bacteria to work..the thing is you can use it....just dont pour gallons of the stuff down the drain
