Why are uk driving licences pink?

The paper part is green but the card is pink! I have 2 carry that everywhere!

  1. I don't know but Irish driving Licences are pink too. They look a bit different you kind of have a card that folds up in three with ur photo on. The provisional ones are green but the proper ones are pink.


  2. Not just the UK. Every EU country now has (or is moving over to) the same green provisional / pink full driving licences.

  3. All European Union driving licence counterparts are pink.

    There is no legal requirement in Great Britain to carry your driving licence with you at all.
