Why are unsalted cashews more expensive than salted cashews?

I think it's because the unsalted are better for you.  The company figures that people who are trying to be healthier are willing to pay more money for their food. I don't think it costs them any more to provide the unsalted version, they just think they can price-gouge someone who is trying to be good and thereby make more money for themselves.

maybe cus the salt is a preservative so they last longer on the shelf
