Why are us English supporting Andy 'i hate England' Murray?

i know that tim henman was not very good but surely there must be someone else we can support not this jumped up idiot.

He apologized for those comments and they were blown out of proportion.  Andy is actually a quarter English so why would he hate the English.  He is the best British player and better than Tim Henman ever was.  Go Andy =))

im not supporting Murray, as far as i am concerned he is not English,.............. How often do you hear the scots going on about they dont want to be part of England,  So by rights he should be classed as Scottish,

As a Jock I hate the way he lambasts England, personally I think the English are great. Its the french, germans, italians swiss and every other non British country we have to be wary of.

I am Scottish so I can only guess. He's playing for the GB team, not the Scottish team. You should support him because he is British, just the same as he should "like" English people. Stop being so spiteful and support the young lad, I hope he does the best he can.

I don't hate the English, my grandmother was English but I think the reason people are reluctant to support him is because he is Scottish (I'm Scottish btw). He's playing for GB same as Henman did who I think was treated unfairly by the press at times, but you just can't stand the fact that a scot has more chance than an englishman right now, plain old sour grapes, sorry but that's how it comes across. Andy Murray is fantastic and I hope he does well, I like to see all GB players do well.
