Generally speaking, personalized plates are cheaper in Virginia than most other states.  It only costs $10 to personalize a standard-issue, blue and white Virginia plate.  In addition, you can add a college logo, military insignia,interest group logo, social cause, images from Virginia's heritage or landscapes, etc. for $10 - $25,  Some of these fees are one-time only, but most are annual.  Personalization or vanity plate fees are in addition to the annual $35 motor vehicle registration fee.
