  1. Supposedly, the non-sexist form for kingdom would be a monarchy.   While flight attendant, administrative assistant, and even sanitation engineer with about two decades worth of existence fall easily from the tongue, kingdom (as a political entity) has a pleasing fairy tale ring to it even if it is not strictly speaking politically correct.

  2. Come on guys, let's get real. Why not ask how many current reigning queens there are in the world.?

Answer: Quite a few.! Can you name the ones in Europe that are Queens in their own right (ie. not by marriage to a King).?

Hint: There are currently only 3.!!!

  3. Historical tradition. Historically, the crown went from male heir to male heir. Hence Kngdom. We don't like too much change too soon.

  4. Male forms have been used as gender neutral for a while. It simply doesn't imply that the country is ruled by a male but rather that the monarch is of kingly (king or queen) rank.

  5. p***s < v****a

    case closed.

  6. Because a King still trumps a Queen in the monarchy. That's why Phillip isn't a King but a Prince Consort. If he had become King when he married Elizabeth, he would have ruled over her.

  7. well "predictablemuch???" it's because a long time aho HAHA i said ho! thanks for the 2 points!
