  1. I think George Bush was getting back at Iraq for the attempt on his father's life. I think the war in Afganistan started as an attempt to get Osama bin Ladin. Since the Taliban were in power at the time, the US and allies had to get them out of power.

  2. when you are president you don't need to answer that question.

  3. PNAC.  Project for a New American Century.  I don't know if they still have a website.  A lot of the kingpins got knocked down.  Cheney is still in though.  Google it.  PNAC.  It was a project set up in 1992 that has to do with the systematic takeover of the Middle East to make them not so disagreeable among themselves, and thus, easier to get their oil.  If only they could be like us!  I jest.  Kind of like what happened to the American Indian nations.

  4. For a laugh, plus the Muslims are getting very numerous and agrro again and our crusade is killing them in droves.

  5. i dont know. is it because of 9/11 or osama.or just because bush is trying to be like his father. involved in a war.

  6. We are not at war with Iraq and Afganistan.  That belief is a fallacy.  We are at war against terror groups  inside these countries such as AlQueda, The Taliban, and Iranian backed gurellias inside Iraq and those who want to kill American's.  Iraq is an Ally of the US as if Afghanistan. We are cleansing these countries of terror groups who have oppressed these governments.

President Bush made this all clear over and over in the early days after 911. Unfortunately most people weren't listening or they've just chosen to forget.

  7. We are not at war with Afghanistan.

We went to war with Afghanistan because the government of the day (aka Taleban) refused to bring Bin Laden forward to answer for his deeds.

The government under the Taleban has been terminated. The long running civil war has been ended.

A democratic government has been elected under a constituiton that has the blessing of the hereditary King of Afghanistan.

The fighting is against radical Islamists who refuse to accept the legitimate government of Afghanistan.

We are not at war with Iraq. That war ended within several months of the US invasion.

There is a democratic government with a constitution drawn up by prominent leaders in the country.

The current fighting in Iraq is an insurgency against the legitimate government.

There are foreign fighters who support establishing an Islamic Caliphate in Iraq.

The insurgency is a power struggle between different Iraqi factions that has at times nearly degenerated into a civil war.

Think what it might be like if the US did not continue to maintain its presence there.

  8. They both advance the PNAC

  9. After 9/11, Bush flew all the high ranking Saudis (including bin Ladens) out of the US while all air traffic was grounded, then stated he had evidence that Osama bL was responsible and demanded that Afghanistan hand him over.  The Afghans offered to do so on production of that evidence so, terrified that he might have to deal with the son of Saudi elite who own him (GWB), he invaded instead.  There was also the carrot, of course, that the Afghans had been blocking installation of an oil pipeline through their country which would allow tankers to load without entering the Gulf.  Coincidentally, this was approved almost immediately they had installed the new government.

Soon, however, ObL was trapped in the Afghan-Pakistan border mountains and capture was imminent so GWB needed a distraction and excuse to withdraw.

Saddam had been installed to repress Shia in oil-rich southern Iraq and provide a wedge between the Shia in oil-rich Iran and the Shia in the oil rich north-east of Saudi.  Between them they control the biggest proportion of the world's known oil reserves.

Saddam's regime, however, had begun to look a little shaky which could lead to a vacuum or worse - democracy, and there was also his father's pull-out to consider.  This was ideal and troops were pulled from Afghanistan for this adventure.
