  1. The government thinks digital TV is better than analog. Really, it isn't, unless you're in the middle of Kansas. You have to have a place that's free of large trees & buildings to get all the channels, you have to have your antenna pointed directly toward the TV station to pick it up. Basically, you have to have an ugly outdoor antenna on your roof, a crank on your TV to rotate the antenna, and a hard time setting up channels. The government just wants to sell regular TV to AT&T, in order to pay off the debt caused by the War in Iraq!!!

  2. I would like to no that my self.

  3. Bottom line.......we need the frequencies.  Digital takes up FAR less bandwidth than Analog and we need them for Public Safety during Natural Disasters.  That's what they will be used for.

  4. So the Gov can sell MORE & make MORE; plain & simple.

  5. Digital TV is superior to analog. The only way to get to large screen HDTV was via digital. To keep both analog and digital going at the same time, which is happening right now, requires twice the frequency spectrum, and a lot more money.

The Government wasn't willing to give the broadcasters the extra spectrum for free, and they couldn't afford the cost. So, the Government decreed the end of analog TV.

To help those who have to buy converter boxes, each household can apply for two $40 coupons off the price of two converter boxes.
