We have oil available in Alaska, off the coast of Florida and California. We have more coal than Saudi Arabia has oil. And we can build the safest and most productive nuclear reators for power plants. So, with all that, why are we being bled dry for fuel? If it comes down to the existence of me or the spotted owl........guess who loses??!!!

  1. maybe because no man is an island. your country is one of the biggest consumers of energy. those energy sources you said is not enough in order for your country to meet its energy demand.

  2. Padmaja S. Stop picking on my family. The answer to t your question is that there simply isnt enough oil in america to "feed" america. Just the same with australia. We live in 2 very dependent countries.

  3. the U.S. is dependent on other country's for oil & manufactured products because the environmentalists & liberal politicians want it that way.

they use the legal system to prevent the development & construction any new refinerys or oil fields.

for instance we have not been allowed to build any new nuclear plants for 30 years (we have 104 old ones in operation)so we have had to burn up billions of tons of fossil fuels (coal, oil, natural gas) to supply energy needs.

environmental regulations also make it prohibitivly expensive to build & operate manufacturing plants in the U.S. so most of the products we use are made in other countrys that have less restrictive laws.

we do have large coal reserves & could make all our own gasoine from our coal & natural gas but are prevented from doing so by these same liberal organisations.

  4. OUR COUNTRY HAS PEOPLE WHO FEEL THAT THEIR RICHNESS CAN BE SHOWN OFF ONLY THROUGH THEIR  PRIVATE HUGE NUMBERS OF CARS,EACH FAMILY MEMBER WITH PRIVATE VEHICLES AND PRESENCE OF COOLERS,RADIO,TELEVISIONS IN EACH ROOMS....

OUR COUNTRY BEING SECOND AMONG THE MOST POPULATED COUNTRY WE ARE WASTING LOTS OF ENERGY WITHOUT SO MUCH OF NEED...

  5. There are enough domestic energy sources in the USA to meet their needs and Canada has more oil than Saudi Arabia, but due to restrictive environmental regulations and high extraction costs, since the late 1960s it has been cheaper and easier to import oil from halfway around the world than to drill for it in the USA.

  6. Your oil, coal and other sources of energy are never enough because of greediness and showing off.  Be conservative in the use of energy and other resources an you will have much more than enough.
