  1. No one else wanted it?

  2. The anthropic principal says that we see the universe the way we do because we exist.  So, for example, there are lots and lots of stars in globular clusters, so you'd expect that that's where we'd find ourselves.  However, these stars have low metallicity, which means they don't have much other than hydrogen and helium elements.  That means that they are missing the carbon, oxygen, and nitrogen that we need.  So we don't find ourselves living on a planet around a star in a globular cluster, because we wouldn't exist there.

Another point of view is this: we are the Universe's way of knowing itself.  Start studying.

  3. What planet do you want to live on?  Now look that up and see if you would last 5 minutes there.

  4. We evolved here.  Our parents were born here as were theirs... back to the first cell about four billion years ago.  I don't understand why people find this concept difficult.  Why?  You are assuming purpose.  Purpose doesn't exist.  Evolution works through adaptation to environments.  Those who do, survive.  Those who don't, die.  Its that simple.

  5. lol Silenus

  6. because you are here and if you were on another planet you would ask why you were there

  7. because your mother in-law had won the tickets and she sent you here instead.

  8.   We are the product of a universe that has developed the capacity to become awear of itself,we are that consiousness and earth is a suitable enviroment to exist.

  9. i never could understand man's need to have a purpose....

why do we have to be here for any specific reason, why can't we just be a random/chance occurance?

  10. We are here on this planet because of a plan by God to reproduce Himself through man.  He first tried it with angels and it didn't work as Lucifer rebelled.  Now he is doing it with mortal man because with mortal men, if they don't want to live God's way, they can be put to death for all eternity.  Earth is our training ground or school to learn how to overcome our human nature and lead a live that is acceptable to God.  God plans to make us His very sons, which is something never offered to angels.  As the son of God, we will be above the angels and angels will be our servants.  Such a beautiful plan and such a great opportunity.  Though we may live as paupers here on earth, if we make it into God's family we will share rulership with Him and possible be a king, mayor, priest or whatever.  As God says through Jesus Christ, in my Father's house there are many mansions and I go to prepare a place for you.  Whatever job he gives you, you will enjoy doing for all eternity.  God offers us the entire universe but all we want is to please the flesh which is going to die anyway.  Life in the physical is only temporary but life in the spirit world is forever.

  11. If you put aside the philosphical input, you can attribute our existence to a slow evolutionary process beginning with amino acids; the very fundamental building blocks sparking our inhabitance.

There are many things to consider, not just what happened on our planet to eventually get to where we are but where our planet is in the galaxy, what type of sun we have, how far away from the sun we are, the introduction of water (comets, early volcanic activity), etc etc. These external factors had to be in place before we could even have a habital environment for those amino acids, those mossy rocks, those primitive jelly fish, those trilobites, dinosaurs, chimps, birds... etc etc.

The only reason why we seem so precious is because the conditions around our formation were set just enough to present the opportunity.

  12. You're in the wrong room, philosophy's next door.

  13. The universe is a soul making machine that tests and refines each one.

1.Each soul must learn to "overcome":

Overcome their flesh, materialism, sin, and their world ruled by serpents.

Overcome their hubris and arrogance and humble themselves.

Overcome fear, especially fear of death.

2.Learn to love others as themselves and even their enemies.

Help the less fortunate, the sick, the handicapped, the poor, the elderly, the orphaned, the lost, the abused, the tired, the thirsty, the spiritually blind, and the forgotten.

If they can do this, then believe that God sent His only begooten Son to die for them by coming in the flesh to take on all their sins and wash them away in his precious innocent blood so that our Heavenly Father will no longer remember our sins and let us be in His prescence after we pass away. We must repent, meaning that we must change our hearts, minds, and ways and never sin again.
