I'm planning on joining the water polo team next year so I can lose some fat and gain muscle. But I read an article about how we're hungry after we swim (I'm sure we all noticed it) and we pig out. Thus, the 700 and something calories we burned while treading around is

  1. eat anything you want, or desire. Just control the amount of food you eat. If you desire to eat candy, then eat some, take a water break and eat a bit more. If you close your eyes, you get a good idea to see if you really are hungry or just eating anything thats infront of you.

    I hope i helped:)

  2. EAT A APPLE OR AN BANANA SOMETHING HEALTHY AND JUNK FOODS

  3. pasta...anything with carbs and protein. or you could drink a lot of pool water. that will make you sick and you won't have any desire to eat anything.

  4. ....because its an intensive sport. All muscles are being used in aqua-cardio activity. Swimming for one hour, at a steady pace (free stroke/treading) burns almost 600 calories on a 150lb person. You feel hungry because you body NEEDS to refuel or it won't build muscle. The problem is NOT the feeling of being hungry after swim it is the choices we make when we do eat. Of course, your not going to lose weight if you chow down a burger combo after every workout. On the other hand, if you don't eat enough calories your body will break down the muscles you have, to fuel itself and will thus make it harder for you to lose weight/gain muscle in the future because you have "scared" the body into thinking your in "starvation" mode.

  5. the same reason why your hungry after any workout.

have a nutrigrain bar or something like that.

    have gatorade.

    just control yourself!
